How to read this data

An employer must file a labor condition application with the Department of Labor before it petitions USCIS for an H-1B worker. The LCA lists the job, the work site and the wage the employer promises to pay, which must be at least the prevailing wage for that job in that area. A certified LCA is not a visa approval: many are filed for workers who are never hired or whose petitions are denied, and one LCA can cover several positions. Salaries here are the lower end of the offered wage, converted to a yearly amount.

The Department of Labor sets four prevailing wage levels for each occupation and area, from Level I (entry) to Level IV (fully competent). The employer picks the level that matches the job's requirements.
